Embodiment Construction

[0024] figure 1 It is a block diagram showing the internal structure of the terminal device 100 for generating stereoscopic 3D images that can realize the present invention.

[0025] As mentioned above, the technology of the present invention can be applied to any terminal equipment that needs to generate and display stereoscopic 3D images in real time, such as mobile phones, TV sets, personal computers, large game platforms, etc. Unlike the prior art solutions, the technology of the present invention can also be applied to resource-constrained platforms. The so-called "resource-constrained device" is a device platform that does not have a GPU but only has a single CPU and the CPU does not support floating-point operations.

[0026] Such as figure 1 The shown terminal device 100 includes a stereoscopic 3D image generating device 101 , a storage unit 102 and a display unit 103 capable of displaying a stereoscopic 3D image. figure 1 Only components related to the technology o...

Abstract

The invention provides a method and equipment used for generating a three-dimensional (3D) video on a resource-limited device. The method used for generating the 3D video on the resource-limited device comprises steps as below: a pretreatment step of files and an execution step, wherein the pretreatment step of the files is used for processing files of a 3D world, namely, converting the files of the 3D world into a 1.0*1.0*1.0 normalization space and storing the files of the 3D world in the mode of fixed-point numbers. The execution step is used for using the stored pretreatment files of the 3D world to generate videos of the left eye and the right eye in real time, and generating the 3D video through overlapping of the video of the left eye and the video of the right eye. The method and the equipment used for the 3D video on the resource-limited device have the advantages that the 3D imaging technology can be applied to resource-limited devices without a graphic processing unit (GPU) and only capable of operating fixed-point numbers.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates generally to three-dimensional (3D) imaging techniques, and more particularly to methods and apparatus for generating stereoscopic 3D images on resource-constrained devices. Background technique [0002] From mesmerizing movie special effects, to medical imaging, video games and more, 3D imaging technology is undoubtedly a new revolution in the field of audiovisual. In particular, stereoscopic 3D images can bring viewers a more immersive visual experience. Oncoming attacks, dreamlike forests, and beasts within reach... Stereoscopic 3D technology allows the audience to gradually approach a more realistic viewing experience. [0003] Traditionally, the technology for generating stereoscopic 3D images is to use the parallax of people's eyes to generate left-eye images and right-eye images respectively, and superimpose these two images in various ways, so that the viewer can have a stereoscopic experience. In order to genera...
