Abstract

Discloses is a system for switching between a PSTN call and a VOIP call. The system comprises a local phone, local customer premises equipment, remote customer premises equipment, and a remote phone, wherein the local phone is provided with a switching button and the switching button corresponds to a switching signal. A PSTN number and a VOIP number of the remote phone are stored in the remote customer premises equipment. The local customer premises equipment comprises a first control module which is used for judging a network which is in call is a PSTN network or a VOIP network after the local customer premises equipment receives the switching signal and sending a request for switching to a network which is not currently in call to the remote customer premises equipment. The remote customer premises equipment sends a number of the network which is not currently in call of the remote phone to the local customer premises equipment in order to establish a connection with the network which is not currently in call. The invention further relates to a method for switching between the PSTN call and the VOIP call.
