Problems solved by technology

[0005] So far, various Chinese herbal medicines (for example, Inula helenium, Poria cocas fungus, Angelica gigas, Paeonia japonica, Dioscorea japonica, Evodia officinalis, Citrus aurantium (trifoliate orange)) are beneficial in relieving IBS, but they did not show a significant effect in the CRD (colorectal dilation) model, a representative evaluation model of IBS

[0032] Preparation of the ethanol-water solution extract of the Rhizome of Atractylodes officinalis. 100 g of the rhizome were dried in the shade and cut into slices. When performing reflux condensation extraction twice, 0.7 liter of 30, 50, 70 or 90 (v / v)% ethanol aqueous solution was added, and stirred for 4 hours. The extract is filtered, concentrated and dried. The final product was used in the following experiments.

[0033] Aqueous extracts of rhizomes of Atractylodes officinalis were prepared as follows: 100 g of rhizomes were added to a Chinese herbal medicine extractor (Daewoong Co., Model No. DWP5000M) and 1.5 liters of pure water was added thereto. Then turn on the first extraction switch for the first extraction for 150 minutes. Afterwards, the same amount of water was added, and the second extraction switch was turned on for a second extraction of 120 minutes. The extract is then filtered, concentrated and dried. The final product was used in the f...

Abstract

The present invention relates to a composition useful for preventing or treating irritable bowel syndrome, and to a method for treating or preventing irritable bowel syndrome. The present invention uses an Atractylodes japonica rhizome extract, preferably an Atractylodes japonica rhizome extract using an aqueous ethanol solution, and more preferably an Atractylodes japonica rhizome extract using an aqueous ethanol solution of 35 to 65 v / v%, as an active ingredient to treat or prevent irritable bowel syndrome. The atractylodes japonica extract exhibits superior effects of inhibiting bowel irritation and enhancement for dyschezia caused by stresses or irritable bowel.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for treating and preventing irritable bowel syndrome and its medical application. Background technique [0002] Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a chronic disease without any detectable organic etiology accompanied by abdominal pain, abdominal discomfort such as persistent recurrent bloating, and excretion abnormalities such as diarrhea and constipation. Symptoms can be exacerbated by mental factors or stress. IBS is classified into diarrhea-type IBS, constipation-type IBS, or pain-type IBS, and the treatment of IBS is performed based on these symptoms. Among Korean IBS patients, 30.8% had diarrhea-type IBS, 24.6% had constipation-type IBS, and 44.6% had a stool state with alternating diarrhea and constipation. [0003] Medications used to treat IBS can be divided into those used to treat one symptom and those used to relieve symptoms overall. Drugs for treating abdominal pain include smooth mus...
