The method comprises the following steps: after building, starting and hanging a target virtual machine on a virtualization platform virtual machine manager (VMM) Host, initially synchronizing memory page data to a target virtual machine from the original physical machine at the second time point; from the second time point, monitoring the memory page updating operation; incrementally synchronizing the updated memory page data in the original physical machine to the target virtual machine; stopping monitoring until the updated increment value in the memory page of the original physical machine is less than a first threshold value; calling the virtualization platform VMM Host to restore the target virtual machine to the operation state; building a target virtual machine having the basically same operation state with the original physical machine so as to realize the state that the target virtual machine continues operating by following the state of the original physical machine, thus avoiding the problem of service interruption, and realizing the effect on smoothing switching service from the original physical machine to the target virtual machine.
