Abstract

The invention discloses a wireless communication device and an electricity saving method thereof. The wireless communication device comprises a modem processor and a data processor, wherein the modem processor is electrically connected to a wireless network system so as to receive and send network packets. When the data processor is in a sleeping mode, an internet protocol (IP) packet protocol module of the modem processor unpacks the received network packets to acquire packet data. The modem processor wakes the data processor up if determining that the packet data need to be processed by the data processor; and otherwise, the data processor remains in the sleeping mode. Accordingly, the sleeping time of the data processor is prolonged and electricity is saved.
