The invention further discloses a system for instructing a terminal to register in an IP multimedia subsystem (IMS). The method and the system can instruct the called terminal to register when the entity with the service call session control function (S-CSCF) has disaster recovery, is simple and convenient in realization method, can reduce the signaling flow, and saves the memory space of the HSS.
