Abstract

The invention discloses a method for instructing a terminal to register in an IP multimedia subsystem (IMS), which comprises the following steps of: an entity with a service call session control function (S-CSCF) adds an registering instruction into a call request after receiving and processing the call request of a calling terminal, and an entity with a proxy call session control function (P-CSCF) sends the call request which is added with the registering instruction to a called terminal. The invention further discloses a system for instructing a terminal to register in an IP multimedia subsystem (IMS). The method and the system can instruct the called terminal to register when the entity with the service call session control function (S-CSCF) has disaster recovery, is simple and convenient in realization method, can reduce the signaling flow, and saves the memory space of the HSS.
