Abstract

The invention provides a method for preparing potassium carbonate dihydrate and ammonium sulfate from wastes produced in a process for producing sodium cyanate by a urea method. The method comprises the following steps of: preparing potassium carbonate trihydrate and ammonium sulfate from wastes produced in the process for producing the sodium cyanate by the urea method, including ammonia, carbondioxide and water, which serve as main materials, and potassium sulfate serving as a cheap industrial raw material in a carbonizer; performing evaporation concentration on the potassium carbonate trihydrate; and cooling to obtain the potassium carbonate dehydrate. The method gives full play to the potential value of the wastes obtained in the process for producing the sodium cyanate by the urea method, reduces environmental pollution and increases economic benefit of an enterprise.
