Abstract

The invention provides a corona sensing device which comprises a voltage supplying module, a peak holding module and a judging module, wherein the voltage supplying module is used for providing a test voltage for an object to be tested; and the peak holding module is used for sensing a current passing through the object to be tested when the test voltage is applied to the object to be tested and generating an extending voltage according to the current. The invention also provides a corona sensing method which comprises the following steps of: firstly providing the test current for the object to be tested, and sensing the current passing through the object to be tested when the test voltage is applied to the object to be tested; and then, generating the extending voltage and judging whether corona discharge occurs or not when the object to be tested bears the test voltage. The device and the method can effectively sense high-frequency slight discharge due to broken holes or cracks in the object to be tested.
