Abstract

The invention provides a thin access point upgrade method, which comprises that: a wireless access point transmits a message comprising upgrade version file information to be downloaded to a wireless controller; the wireless controller transmits a message comprising an address of a server, from which the wireless controller thinks the wireless access point downloads the upgrade version file, to the wireless access point according to the current load of the wireless controller per se and other upgrade version file information to be downloaded on the wireless controller or the access point; theaccess point analyzes the message of the server address, acquires the server address of the upgrade version file, opens a simple file transmission protocol / file transmission protocol client program, and downloads the upgrade version file from the server based on the simple file transmission protocol / file transmission protocol; the access point transmits a message expressing the success of downloading the upgrade version file to the wireless controller; and the wireless controller transmits a message which expresses that the success of the upgrade version file downloaded by the wireless accesspoint is received to the access point.
