Abstract

The invention relates to a method and a device for a network extension to dial a traditional extension and a computer program product thereof. The device comprises a session initial protocol agent and a real-time transmission protocol relay. The session initial protocol agent receives a session request from the network extension; a traditional extension number contained in the session request is replaced by a switchboard number; and the replaced session request is transmitted to a network gateway with the switchboard number, so that the network gateway transmits the replaced session request to a voice automaton through a telephone exchanger. The real-time transmission protocol relay transmits the traditional extension number in a double-voice multifrequency form to the network gateway. Therefore, the network extension dials the traditional extension at low hardware cost.
