The additive comprises the following components in percentage by weight: 47.6 percent of pulverized maize straw, 4.8 percent of horse manure and 47.6 percent of water. The preparation method comprises the following steps of: (1) weighing 47.6 weight percent of the pulverized maize straw and uniformly mixing the pulverized maize straws with 47.6 weight percent of the water and 4.8 weight percent of the horse manure so as to ensure that the water soaks the maize straws which is in sufficient contact with the horse manure; (2) putting the uniformly mixed mixture of the maize straws, the horse manure and the water in a plastic-covered tunnel with a day temperature of 25-30 DEG C and a night temperature of 20-25 DEG C to decompose for 50-150 days; during decomposing, turning out the mixture every 5 days and complementing water, wherein during decomposing, the water content is 50-65 percent; and (3) obtaining a decomposed product namely the additive for relieving the chilli autotoxicity.
