These floated sludges are also not stable and tend to disintegrate on their own, further contaminating the purified water with debris from the mud cake

[0061] The following tests were carried out on heavily polluted or impure Seine river water (turbidity about 50 to 300 NTU).

[0062] The characteristics of raw water are as follows:

[0063] - Turbidity of raw water EB = 50 to 300 NTU;

[0064] - MES of raw water EB = 70 to 300 mg / l;

[0065] - Temperature = 10 to 18°C.

[0066] These tests were carried out in a flotation test unit with a flow rate of 12 m3 / h and consisted of:

[0067] - coagulation phase mixed with coagulant;

[0068] - Inject the flocculant into the mixing tank;

[0069] - injection of coagulant into the agitation zone formed by the overflow feeding the static flocculator;

[0070] - static flocculation stage;

[0071] - A flotation chamber with a cross-section of 0.4 m², corresponding to a flow velocity of 30 m / h.

[0072] Pressurization / release system (see figure 2 ) consists of a pressurized spherical tank P, which uses a pump Q to draw part of the purified water in the flotation cell, pressuriz...

Abstract

The invention relates to a method for the floatation-clarification of difficult water, in particular heavily polluted surface water, urban or industrial wastewater, rainwater or any type of water thatfloats with difficulty, particularly water which contains a high percentage of mineral matter or requires the injection of a flocculation aid and which originates from filters or membrane technologies such as ultrafiltration, said method comprising: a coagulation step (A1) in which a dose of coagulant (1) is injected into the water to be treated; a flocculation step (B) in which flocculant (2) isinjected (B1) into the water after the coagulation step, in order to agglomerate the suspended particles in the form of flocs; and subsequently a floatation step (C) in which the flocculated water ismixed with an emulsion of air micro-bubbles in a floatation apparatus. A second coagulant injection step (A2) is performed downstream of the flocculant injection (B1) and upstream of the floatation (C).

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a method for purifying difficult-to-treat water by flotation, especially for purifying heavily polluted surface water or urban and industrial waste water, rainwater and generally all kinds of water that is difficult to treat by floatation, especially with high Mineral percent water, or for all types of water purification that require the injection of flocculants followed by filtration or membrane processes such as ultrafiltration, including: [0002] - the coagulation phase, during which a dose of coagulant is injected into the water to be treated; [0003] - the flocculation phase, during which a flocculant is injected into the water after the coagulation phase, so that the suspended particles aggregate into the form of flocs; [0004] - This is followed by a flotation stage, during which the flocculation water is mixed with an emulsion of gas microbubbles in a flotation unit, the gas generally being air, which attaches...
