Abstract

The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a flap wheel. The flap wheel is provided with a disc-shaped carrier. The carrier capable of being driven to rotate around an axis supports a plurality of abrasive flaps overlapping in a tile-like manner. The abrasive flaps are fastened to a circular carrier section centered on the axis, particularly by means of gluing, wherein the abrasive flaps have a straight first edge, the lower edge, and a second straight edge abutting thereon, the outer edge, and wherein the abrasive flaps have a third edge, the inner edge, which cuts both the lower edge and the outer edge at least in the extension of the flap, wherein the outer edges of the abrasive flaps form the outer contour of the flap wheel. A strip made of grinding materials and arranged on a substrate are cut by the abrasive flaps, so that the abrasive flaps are made in a triangular shape. Thus, a groove linearly extending along the triangular shape is cut in the strip and the strip is consequently cut into two parts as two strips. Both the two strips are provided with a plurality of triangular flaps together suspended on the substrate.
