Abstract

Disclosed is a skin cleansing composition comprising a polyoxyethylene alkyl ether sulfate or alkyl sulfate and having a high foam viscosity and a creamy foam quality. Specifically, the skin cleansing composition comprises the following components (A), (B) and (C): (A) a polyoxyethylene alkyl ether sulfate or alkyl sulfate represented by the general formula (1); (B) myristyl alcohol; and (C) at least one cationic polymer selected from (C-1) a copolymer having a cationic group which comprises, as essential constituent monomers, at least one vinyl monomer having a nonionic group, at least one vinyl monomer having a cationic group and at least one crosslinked vinyl monomer having in its molecule at least two groups selected from a vinyl group, an acryloyl group, a methacryloyl group and an aryl group and which can be produced by radical polymerization, (C-2) a cationization cellulose derivative; (C-3) a cationization guar gum derivative and (C-4) a diallyl quaternary ammonium salt polymer or a diallyl quaternary ammonium salt / acrylamide copolymer, wherein the weight-based ratio of the component (A) to the component (B) ((A) / (B)) falls within the range from 15 / 0.1 to 15 / 4, the weight-based ration of the component (A) to the component (C) ((A) / (C)) falls within the range from 15 / 0.05 to 15 / 3, the weight-based ration of the component (B) to the component (C) ((B) / (C)) falls within the range from 1 / 0.05 to 1 / 1, and the content of the component (B) is more than 1 wt% and not more than 14 wt%.
