Heart rhythm is normally controlled by the sinoatrial node4. The sinoatrial node 4 transmits electrical signals that are transmitted through the heart wall by means of electrical pathways formed by specific cells. These electrical signals along electrical pathways coordinate the heart muscle cells so that the cells in the atria and ventricles co-contract nearly simultaneously. The normal conduction of electrical impulses through the heart begins at the sinoatrial node 4, via the right atrium, the atrioventricular node 5, its fiber bundles 6, and then extends to the ventricular muscle groups.
