The local file play system includes a remote control unit, a set-top box, a display equipment and an external access storage device. When the set-top box detects the external access storage equipment, users can access to the generated local media play list by pressing down the remote control unit pre-defined key and select media file play by media file analysis and a plurality of index information play construct.
