Abstract

The invention relates to a method for culturing super fine ground-cover chrysanthemum by using shennong Chrysanthemum Idicum L. It comprises following steps: employing shennong Chrysanthemum Idicum L and ground-cover chrysanthemum 'pudijin'as parent material for hybridization, separating bud with plastic bag when bud grows out, collecting pollen at full-bloom stage, storing at dry condition. Cutting the outside petal when the stamen in the first and second cycle discharges pollen, when the pistil stigma forms into V shape and the excretion appears, pollinating pollen of male parent and mentorpollen into stigma of female parent at 10: 00- 11: 00 in sunny morning; picking seed when it turns pitchy 45-60 days after pollination, and storing at dry condition; selecting hybrid in the next spring sowing, analyzing fragrant element in female and male parent material and hybrid flower, and selecting super fine ground-cover chrysanthemum variety. The new variety is characterized by fine scent,strong resistance, abundant flower, central blooming period, short or creeping plant, easy management and suitability for culture in the open.
