Embodiment Construction

[0025] It should be understood at the outset that while an exemplary embodiment of the invention is shown below, the invention may be implemented using any variety of techniques, whether or not currently known or in existence. The invention should in no way be limited to the exemplary embodiments shown below, the drawings, and the techniques illustrated below, including the exemplary designs and implementations illustrated and described herein. Furthermore, the drawings contained herein are not necessarily drawn to scale.

[0026] Figures 1-4 generally illustrate a process that may be used to collect and sell processed hydrocarbons from various hydrocarbon fields operated by various oil companies, including deepwater fields. and system. Although an exemplary structural configuration will be described with reference to such a process, it should be expressly understood that such operations are not limited to this type of configuration. Other configurations may be used, includi...

Abstract

A method has been provided for gathering, transporting, and marketing hydrocarbons from offshore fields (20A-20D). The method can include gathering different quality oils and then storing and / or segregating the oils according to such qualities. The oils can then be marketed, according to the qualities, to one or more locations via a floating vessel (50). In some configurations, the method can further include a gathering of gas and then processing of at least a portion of the gathered gas on the vessel (50). Gas processing techniques can include, among others, a compression of the gas, a generation of electricity, an internal utilization on the vessel (50), and a gas-to-liquids processing. The product of some of the processing techniques can, in turn, be marketed to one or more locations.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates generally to the field of petroleum production, and more particularly, but not in a limiting manner, to a system for collecting, transporting and selling offshore oil and gas from multiple fields and operators (or operators) methods and systems. Background technique [0002] Advances in offshore drilling and production technology have enabled the petroleum industry to produce in various regions of the world, including deepwater environments and previously unexplored subsea producing fields. With this type of production, there is concern about how to transport the petroleum product to the onshore station. Traditional methods of transportation include the use of massive seabed oil or gas pipelines that combine products from different tankers, production platforms, or similar installations that may be associated with one or more different subsea fields , for delivery to an onshore central station, or for storage at a centra...
