A burner (10) for a heater, especially for use in motor vehicles, with an essentially axially symmetrical combustion chamber (22) and a baffle plate (36) which is located in the combustion chamber. The baffle plate (36) has a defined curvature in an axial direction and that there is a curvature in the direction of the burnout zone (32).
