Problems solved by technology

[0009] Regardless of whether it is for laying hens or broiler chickens, the existing methods of self-separation of males and females are all single-sexed, which is only used in commercial generations. Parents still rely on the traditional anal turning method to identify males and females.

[0017] 1. Materials

[0018] ①The black-footed fast-feather strain is called the A-series.

[0019] ② The black-footed slow-feather strain is called the B-series.

[0020] ③Light-colored shank (feet) yellow-feathered laying hens are called C series.

[0021] 2. For seed production mode, see figure 1 , the symbols "♂" and "♀" in the figure represent male and female respectively

[0022] The first step is to use black-footed slow-feather strain (B line) roosters to cross with yellow-feathered light-colored shank layer hens, that is, C-series hens. Among the next generation of chicks hatched, the dark shanks (feet) are hens , keep the hen with dark shanks and slow feathers for breeding, this is the parent stock breeding hen (BC♀).

[0023] In the second step, the remaining parental breeding hen (BC♀) lays eggs and then crosses with the cock of the black-footed fast-feather strain (A line), and the eggs are collected for incubation. The hatched chicks are the commercial genera...

Abstract

The invention relates to a method for identifying chicken sex through shank color and feather speed, which makes use of the two sex-linked characters of deep shank color and light color, fast feather speed and slow feather speed. It makes the cock with deep shank color and slow feather speed mate with hen with light shank color, and the chick of next generation with deep shank color is hen. The percent of accuracy is 100%. It takes the hen with deep shank color and slow feather speed as female parent, and makes it mate with male parent with deep shank color and fast feather speed. The chickens of next generation are all with deep shank color, but the male chick is with slow feather speed and female chick is with fast feather speed. The percent of accuracy is 98%. The invention mainly solves the problems of identifying chick sex. Compared with traditional anal-turning method, the invention is characterized by simple process, fast speed, high accuracy, and harmless to chick. It can identify sex both for parent and commercial generation.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a method for identifying the sex of poultry. Background technique [0002] In the chicken breeding industry, it is very important to distinguish the sex of hatched chicks: [0003] 1. Laying hen industry: commercial chicken farms only raise hens to lay eggs, not roosters. Therefore, the chickens hatched by the parent breeder farm must be separated from the male and female chickens, and the female chicks are sold to commercial farms for rearing. The male chicks lose their feeding value due to slow growth, and all are killed and eliminated. The ancestral chicken farm uses the male chicken seedlings of the male line and the female seedlings of the female line to form a parent generation breeder, which is sold to the parent generation breeder farm. In this way, the ancestral field must also remove the male seedlings of the paternal line and the male seedlings of the female line. Therefore, in the production of laying hens, wheth...
