Embodiment Construction

[0029] exist figure 1 In the embodiment shown in to 4, the lower part of the lifting hook 1 (made of forged steel) is of conventional design and comprises a hook body 2 and a fork-like upper end 3, of which a bumper 4 is The pivoting shaft is connected at a pivot pin 5. When carrying a load, the bumper 4 will experience a force that impels the bumper 4 to close the throat or entrance of the hook 1, as figure 1 as indicated in and known in the art. In the closed position, a spring-loaded latch member 6 holds the bumper 4 in its closed position so that the load, in this case the large loop 7 (for example by means of chains attached to an object to be lifted) , is securely held in the hook and cannot loosen, even if the hook 1 is otherwise manipulated and set.

[0030] According to the invention, the upper part of the hook, in particular the upper part of the bumper 4 (on the other side of the pivot pin 5), is integrally formed with a connection head having a novel and practic...

Abstract

A chain coupling component, e.g. in the form of a lifting hook, is disclosed. At the top end, the component has a connecting head shaped like the letter''C'' with a longitudinal or vertical slot (10) leading to a widened space (30). At its upper end portion, the connecting head has a pocket-like configuration (29) for accommodating a selected link (55) whereby the effective length of an associated chain is determined. This effective length can be adjusted by inserting a different link in coupling position in the pocket like configuration (29). The end link (52) is anchored to an anchoring means (40) located at the lower end portion of the connecting head (10). Hereby, the component will maintain its orientation and relative position in relation to the load line.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a chain coupling part of the type stated in the preamble of claim 1, such as a lifting hook, hook, chain tensioner or similar assembly, with a coupling head for fastening and Adjustably attaching to the chain linking member an end link of an associated chain consisting of oval links having a material thickness d, an outside width w, and a width greater than said outside width The outer length l of w, the connector includes: [0002] an anchoring device for fixedly attaching an end link on said chain to said connector, and [0003] A pocket formation for positioning a selected link of said chain in a joint position, leaving a portion of said chain between said end link and said selected link. [0004] Such chain link parts are used, for example, in lifting systems where it is necessary to easily adjust the effective length of the chain part carrying the part, such as a chain hanging from a crane and carrying a lifting hook chai...
