Embodiment Construction
[0049] FIG. 1 shows a container 10 with a one-piece sliding floor 20 . The container 10 has the same or similar external length and width dimensions and corner castings as regular freight containers already in use, such as ISO-type or SeaLand-type containers. Although it is preferred to use standard heights, non-standard heights can also be used. However, the bottom is different, allowing the bottom panel 20 to be slid open. In this way, material located inside the container can fall out of the bottom. The bottom frame of the container has support bars 30 which support the bottom when closed and remain rigid under the weight of the stock. These support rods 30 are preferably pointed or bent at the top to prevent material from being lodged on it when it falls.
[0050] Furthermore, around the edge of the floor 20 there is a seal 15 to prevent the contents of the container from reaching around the ends and sides of the floor 20 and escape, or from hindering sliding.
