Problems solved by technology

Considering that damage can absolutely affect the body when exposed to chronically, then, in the absence of an artificial environment, damage exists independently and can lead to chronic disease and even long-term incapacity
It is therefore clear that preventive measures to avoid SBS are urgently needed for medical, socio-medical and economical reasons and that existing solutions are incomplete

Embodiment Construction

[0051] DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

[0052] The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for improving the air quality in buildings or other confined spaces including means of transportation such as airplanes, trains and the like. Referring to the drawings, a first embodiment of an apparatus for improving air quality is given. This schematic diagram shows part of a device which may function as an addition to a building's air circulation system, or be provided as a stand-alone device in a single room or any other controlled environment.

[0053] It should be appreciated that the device 1 in Figure 1 provides a number of separate components which may be provided as a single integrated device in a single housing, or may be provided separately and interconnected as desired. Alternatively, the device 1 may be included in a larger piece of equipment in the building's air circulation system, rather than being a separate unit installed in the circulati...

Abstract

The present invention provides a method and apparatus for improving air quality within an enclosed space. The apparatus provides molecular sieve that preferably contains zeolite to treat the air to remove toxins such as suspended particles, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, nitrogen dioxide, bacteria, formaldehyde, total volatile organic compounds, radon and organic odour causing compounds. An apparatus having plurality fo molecular sieves able to operate sequentially is disclosed and can be incorporated into air-conditioning for fitment in new or existing installations or stand independently.

Description

field of invention [0001] The invention relates to a method and a device for improving the air quality in a building or a closed space, in particular a multi-room building with an air circulation system. However, the present invention can also be applied to single-room buildings or vehicles such as airplanes, trains, automobiles, cars and the like. Background of the invention [0002] In most urban environments, the quality of air available from the atmosphere is declining. The reduction in air quality is repeated in buildings and may even be worse in some cases. Smoking in closed buildings is harmful not only due to passive smoking, but also because of the drop in oxygen levels and the introduction of some common impurities into the air besides nicotine or tar. [0003] The decrease in air quality is not only due to the decrease in oxygen content, but also due to the corresponding increase in some potentially harmful components or pollutants. This includes increases in a...
