The invention also relates to a method for preparing the flame retardant material, comprising the following steps: providing a liquid component comprising an alkali metal silicate aqueous solution; the preparation method comprises the following steps: providing a liquid component containing ZrO2 particles, providing a solid component containing ZrO2 particles, uniformly mixing the liquid component and the solid component to form a viscous slurry, coating the slurry on a carrier or injecting the slurry into a mold, ventilating and heating, dehydrating and condensing the slurry, and curing to obtain the foamable flame-retardant material.
