The method comprises the following steps: opening the design data of an optical system of the wide-band large-zoom-ratio continuous zoom camera in zemax software, and setting the linear thermal expansion coefficient of each structural member material; adjusting a temperature to a value out of the large-view-field design temperature interval of the optical system, adjusting the working distance of a focal plane until imaging is clear, and recording the working distance of the focal plane at the moment; and calculating a focal plane change value between the focal plane working distance at the moment and a focal plane working distance under the default temperature of the optical system, and selecting a material corresponding to the linear thermal expansion coefficient according to the focal plane change value to carry out thermal compensation on an image plane. According to the method, the focal plane working distance at high and low temperatures is simulated in the zemax software, the variable quantity of the focal plane is found, materials meeting the linear thermal expansion coefficients are found and are manufactured into corresponding parts, and thermal expansion of the parts is utilized for thermal compensation of the image plane, so the phenomenon of image blurring under the condition of a large view field is perfectly solved.
