Abstract

The method comprises the steps of: obtaining an ROI area from an original image, compressing a non-ROI area in the original image according to a first compression level, and determining the compressed non-ROI area and the area, except the non-ROI area, in the original image as a first image; compressing the first image according to the second compression level to obtain a second image; and if the difference value between the second image size M and the preset target value N is not in the preset range, selecting a compression level to be adjusted from the first compression level and the second compression level according to the M and the N, and adjusting the selected compression level. The non-ROI area is compressed by using the first compression level, so that the size of the non-ROI area is reduced, the definition of the ROI area is reserved, and then the whole image is compressed by using the second compression level to obtain the image size meeting the requirement. The size of the compressed image is always kept in a range meeting the requirement by dynamically adjusting the compression level.
