Abstract

In the technical field of imagerecognition, a conventional optical character recognition technology needs to be improved urgently in recognition rate and accuracy. The invention provides the text line character segmentation methodand device based on projection. The method determines the actual width and height of a single character through horizontal projection and vertical projection, and the method is accurate in judgment of the upper and lower boundaries of the character and is high in robustness; through inclined font correction, the application range of character segmentation is expanded. Character projection data are subjected to weighted summation by adopting a gray image vertical projection curve, a binary image vertical projection curve and an edge intensity difference variance projection curve; the accuracyand reliability of character boundary judgment are improved, accurate and rapid character segmentation is facilitated, and segmentation of lightly adhered characters and adhered special characters isalso effective.
