A main platform and a standby platform which are not associatedwith each other are established in an IPTV system, and a user uses an application program, selects a playing program and tries to obtain a program source; a disaster recovery module accesses the mainplatform, when a connection fault occurs, disaster recovery logic in the main platform is carried out, if access of the standby platform succeeds, subsequent services are continued, and if access fails, it is prompted that the system is in a completely paralyzed state and emergency rescue is needed. According to the method, an application-level disaster tolerance solution is adopted, disaster tolerance in the main system and the standby system and between the systems is achieved, and the huge cost for adjusting the network layout is avoided; under the condition that a terminal user does not feel, playing failures caused by CDN faults are greatly reduced at a low cost, and the overall experience of the user is improved.
