A power window controldevice for a vehicle is provided with: a power window device (opening / closing unit) (32) that is disposed on a side door (28) of the vehicle and that opens / closes window glass (30) provided on the side door (28) by moving up and down; an operation sensor (detection unit) (46) that is disposed above the armrest unit (38) in the side door (28) and in front of the door inward-opening handle (42) in the vehicle, and detects the operation of the hand of the occupant in a detection region on the inside of the vehicle, said detection region being set at the location where the operation sensor is disposed; and a control unit that closes the window glass (30) by means of the power window device (32) when the movement sensor (46) detects that the occupant has lifted up the hand, and opens the windowglass (30) by means of the power window device (32) when the movement sensor (46) detects that the occupant has lowered down the hand.
