Embodiment Construction

[0037] OLEDs can be fabricated on various substrates such as glass, plastic and metal. figure 1 The organic light emitting device 100 is shown schematically and non-limitatively. The drawings are not necessarily drawn to scale, and some layer structures in the drawings can also be omitted as required. Device 100 may include substrate 101 , anode 110 , hole injection layer 120 , hole transport layer 130 , electron blocking layer 140 , light emitting layer 150 , hole blocking layer 160 , electron transport layer 170 , electron injection layer 180 and cathode 190 . Device 100 may be fabricated by sequentially depositing the described layers. The properties and functions of the various layers and exemplary materials are described in more detail in US Patent No. 7,279,704 B2, columns 6-10, the entire contents of which are incorporated herein by reference.

[0038] Each of these layers has more instances. For example, flexible and transparent substrate-anode combinations are disc...

Abstract

The invention discloses an organic electroluminescent material containing a helicene structure, and an electroluminescent device. The organic electroluminescent material is a novel compound containinga helicene structure, and can be used as a host material in an electroluminescent device. The novel compounds can provide high current efficiency and high external quantum efficiency, and provide good device performance.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to compounds for use in organic electronic devices, such as organic light emitting devices. More particularly, it relates to a compound having a helicene structure, an electroluminescent device and a compound formulation comprising the compound. Background technique [0002] Organic electronic devices include but are not limited to the following categories: organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), organic field-effect transistors (O-FETs), organic light-emitting transistors (OLETs), organic photovoltaic devices (OPVs), dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) , organic optical detectors, organic photoreceptors, organic field-effect devices (OFQDs), light-emitting electrochemical cells (LECs), organic laser diodes, and organic plasmonic light-emitting devices. [0003] In 1987, Tang and Van Slyke of Eastman Kodak reported a double-layer organic electroluminescent device that included an arylamine hole-transport layer and a tris-8-...
