The remote control device of the home appliance comprises a Bluetooth communication module, an infrared emission module, a direction sensor, a rotary module and a processing module, wherein the Bluetooth communication module is used for receiving a user command which comprises information of a to-be-controlled home appliance; the processing module is used for acquiring an infrared match code table according to the information, is also used for controlling the rotary module to rotate relative to the direction of the remote control device according to the to-be-controlled home appliance and is further used for controlling the infrared emission module to emit an infrared signal according to the infrared match code table; the processing module is also used for detecting a first direction appointed by the direction sensor when the device is started; and the rotary module is used for rotating when the first direction is not the rotary direction till the direction sensor appoints to the preset direction, so that the home appliance only supporting infrared control signal is controlled remotely, and the conventional home appliance is connected to a smart home system.
