Abstract

The invention discloses a spherical composite insulator which comprises a core rod and a plurality of groups of spherical main bodies fixed on the core rod. Each spherical main body is a round spherestructure made of an insulation material, and the sphere center of the spherical main body is positioned at the axis of the core rod; and connection fittings are fixedly arranged at both ends of the core rod. The spherical main bodies comprise at least two insulation spheres; the insulation spheres with different diameters are alternatively distributed; and the diameters of the insulation spheresclose to the upper end of the core rod are greater than those of the insulation spheres close to the lower end of the core rod. According to the invention, the aim of little ice coating and dirt accumulation is fulfilled by changing an appearance structure of the insulator; the insulator fixed on the core rod is set into round spheres with different diameters; surface dirt accumulation and an icecoating quantity of the insulator can be greatly reduced by the spherical structures; and the normal working period of the insulator is prolonged.
