The invention relates to a process for filling a beverage package comprising an interior drinking straw, the filling process comprises performing on-line microwave assisted pasteurization of the beverage; performing vapor hydrogen peroxide treatment on the package; performing vapor hydrogen peroxide treatment on the straw; assembling the straw subjected to the vapor hydrogen peroxide treatment into the package subjected to the vapor hydrogen peroxide treatment; fixing the straw into the package; performing the temperature adjustment on the pasteurized beverage, and cold-filing the pasteurizedbeverage to the package subjected to the vapor hydrogen peroxide treatment with the fixed straw; and sealing the package.
