Abstract

The invention discloses a machine for preparing and dispensing espresso coffee, said machine comprising: a water source (1) supplying cold water; a dispensing group (19) and a corresponding coffee brewer (18); receiving heated water and dispensing the A coffee pump (7) that pumps the heating water to the coffee maker (18); a flow meter (9) arranged between the coffee pump (7) and the coffee maker (18), the flow meter for measuring instantaneous water flow, i.e. the volume of water flowing from said coffee pump to said coffee brewer per unit of time; for storing at least one pressure profile memory, wherein said coffee pump (7) is configured to operating according to said pressure profile during coffee dispensing; and a control unit (15) that stops dispensing coffee based on a measurement of water flow calculated from the start time of dispensing.
