The invention provides a file management method and a mobile terminal. The method comprises the following steps of: receiving first input of a user, wherein the first input is used for selecting a target folder; in response to the first input, creating a first menu option, wherein the first menu option comprises at least one of a first operation option and a second operation option, the first operation option is used for triggering to copy a source file into the target folder, and the second operation option is used for triggering to cutting the source file into the target folder; under the condition that second input, on a target source file, of the user is received, displaying a first operation menu, wherein the first operation menu comprises a first menu option; and under the conditionthat third input, on the first menu option, of the user is received, executing an operation corresponding to a target operation option selected by the third input. According to the method, source files can be directly copied or cut into target folders, so that the switching operation between folders can be avoided and then the file management efficiency is improved.
