Problems solved by technology

In a massive MIMO system, although the use of hybrid precoding greatly reduces the number of RF links and thus reduces the power consumption of the RF links, the power consumption of the large-scale phase shifter network is relatively large
Due to the unit modulus limitation of a single phase shifter, the optimization problem of hybrid precoding is a non-convex problem with high computational complexity

Embodiment Construction

[0042] The technical solutions provided by the present invention will be described in detail below in conjunction with specific examples. It should be understood that the following specific embodiments are only used to illustrate the present invention and are not intended to limit the scope of the present invention.

[0043] The present invention proposes a hybrid precoding method based on a novel phase-shifting switch network. The base station sends analog signals to multiple users. The base station uses a small number of radio frequency link units to match large-scale antenna elements to perform hybrid precoding on the baseband data stream. Hybrid precoding is divided into digital baseband precoding and analog RF precoding, both of which can control the amplitude and phase of analog signals, and the two are connected by a radio frequency link. Each RF link is connected to a subset of the massive antenna elements through a network of phase shifters.

Abstract

The invention provides a hybrid precoding method based on a novel phase-shift switching network. Switches of choosing one from multiple choices are used in the switch network of radio frequency precoding. Thus the number of analog phase shifters is obviously reduced compared with the number of phase shifters in a traditional phase shifter network. Because the power consumption of the switches is far less than the power consumption of phase shifters, the effect of greatly reducing the power consumption of the hybrid precoding circuit is achieved. In addition, the number of phase shifters in theanalog radio frequency precoding phase shifter network is doubled. Thus every two phase shifters are connected with a switch of choosing one from multiple choices, and the optimization of the hybridprecoding scheme is more flexible and the performance is close to the performance of pure digital precoding. By combining the switching network with the phase shifter network, the power consumption ofthe hybrid precoding circuit can be greatly reduced and the energy efficiency of the system can be improved on the premise of ensuring certain spectral efficiency.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to the communication field and to a precoding method, and more specifically to a hybrid precoding method based on a novel phase-shifting switch network. Background technique [0002] In order to improve the capacity of the communication system, massive multiple antenna (massive MIMO, massive multiple input multiple output) technology has entered the 5G standard. In order to solve the problem of scarcity of spectrum resources, the millimeter wave (mmWave, millimeter wave) frequency band will be developed into a new available frequency band, and the sharp reduction of antenna size under mmWave will make the massive MIMO technology more widely used. In the downlink of the massive MIMO system, in order to achieve the maximum system capacity, precoding technology needs to be used. Nonlinear precoding can achieve the maximum capacity, but the complexity is high. In order to simplify the precoding scheme and maintain system per...
