Embodiment Construction

[0021] figure 1 The basic arrangement of a transmission system is shown which has two networks 2 , 3 which are to exchange data with each other. This data exchange can take place either unidirectionally from network 2 to network 3 (or vice versa), and of course also bidirectionally between the two networks 2 , 3 .

[0022] The networks 2, 3 can be simple or complex networks, for example in a ring topology or a linear topology. It is of course also conceivable that such a network 2 , 3 comprises only a single element such as a sensor, actuator, controller or the like.

[0023] A multiplier 4 is present for transmitting data from the network 2 , for example, to the network 3 . The multiplier 4 splits the supplied data stream into two data streams. Likewise, the merging of the two data streams takes place after the two data streams have been received via the splitter 5 , wherein the received data streams are passed on to the network 3 after the merging.

[0024] The data tran...

Abstract

The invention discloses a method for a redundant transmission system PRP and temporary storage of data packets. The invention relates to a method for operating a transmission system (1) that comprisesa first network (2) and at least one additional network (3), in which data are exchanged between said at least two networks (2, 3) by means of data of the first network (2) being fed to duplication means (4) in the form of data packets, these fed data packets being wirelessly transmitted to separator means (5) via at least two transmission paths (6, 7) using PRP, and being forwarded from said separator means (5) to the connected additional network (3) in the form of a data stream. The invention is characterized in that the data packets are temporarily stored in a memory once they have been transmitted via the at least two transmission paths (6, 7).

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a method according to the features of the preamble of claim 1 for operating a transmission system having a first network and at least one further network, wherein in the at least two networks The data is exchanged between the following way, that is, the data of the first network is provided to the multiplier, wherein the provided data is wirelessly transmitted via at least two transmission paths by means of PRP to the splitter and from the splitter to connected to another network. Background technique [0002] Such known transport systems are used in safety-critical processes in process plants, in stationary or mobile work plants, for example in work vehicles such as cranes or the like. [0003] It is important here that the data be transmitted reliably from the first network to the at least one further network. Such safety-critical data transmissions are particularly important when the data is transmitted via wireless transm...
