A four-way valve is arranged in the heat pump system which further comprises an indoor heat exchanger and an outdoor heat exchanger. The indoor heat exchanger comprises a first heat exchange flow channel and a second heat exchange flow channel, and a refrigerant circulating loop is formed by the first heat exchange flow channel, the four-way valve and the outdoor heat exchanger. A heat exchange medium flows in the second heat exchange flow channel and is used for exchanging heat with a refrigerant in the first heat exchange flow channel. The diagnosis method comprises the steps of detecting the temperature T2 of the heat exchange medium flowing out of the second heat exchange flow channel, and judging whether the four-way valve has faults or not at least according to the detected temperature T2.
