Abstract

A medical device used to capture stone fragments. A medical device for capturing one or more stone fragments is disclosed, the medical device comprising a sheath having a proximal end and a distal end, a handle at the proximal end of the sheath, and a device operable with the handle. Net basket. The basket includes a plurality of wires that capture stone fragments and has a contracted configuration when the basket is positioned within the sheath and an expanded configuration when the basket is positioned beyond the distal end of the sheath. The medical device also includes an indicator for communicating the size of the stone fragments beyond a predetermined limit to an operator of the medical device, and a release mechanism for releasing the stone fragments from the plurality of wires when the size of the stone fragments exceeds the predetermined limit. The plurality of wires can be reset to an operable position after release of the stone fragments.

Description

[0001]Related application[0002]The present application claims priority to U.S. Patent Application No. 14 / 638,639, filed on March 4, 2015, the entire content of the US patent application is incorporated herein by reference.Technical field[0003]The present disclosure relates to medical equipment. More specifically, the present disclosure relates to a medical apparatus for capturing one or more stones debris. Background technique[0004]The statements of this section provide only background information related to the present disclosure, and may or may not constitute a prior art.[0005]During ureteroscopy or transdermal renal mirror (PCNL) procedure, the basket is usually captured and taking out of the calcium fragmentation from the patient anatomy. After the calcium debris has been removed from the patient from the basket, the basket is reinserted into the patient anatomy in the patient anatomy, to remove all or most of the remaining calculus fragments. However, in some cases, excessive ...
