Abstract

The invention discloses an image accelerator and a related method. The image accelerator comprises a rasterization module, wherein, a rasterized first set of primitives becomes a first group of pixels and generates information of the first group of pixels; a process internal module acquires a pixel vale from a memory according to the information received from the rasterization module, then performs mathematical calculations to the pixel value and generates one or more processed image layers; and a process intermediate module that synthesis the one or more processed image layers received from the process inter module with other image layers received from the memory, outputs the synthesized image for displaying. The image accelerator and the related method can make the image rending process more smooth, and can greatly reduce or even avoid frame losing.
