Abstract

The invention discloses a domain name updating method, a system and a main DNS (Domain Name System) server. The method comprises steps: the main DNS server sends a domain name query request to an authoritative DNS server; the main DNS server receives a domain name query result sent by the authoritative DNS server, and a locally-saved domain name buffer record is updated according to the domain name query result; and the main DNS server synchronizes the updated domain name buffer record to each slave DNS server to enable each slave DNS server to update the locally-saved domain name buffer record. Through arranging the main DNS server and the slave DNS servers, the main DNS server is in charge of domain name updating, the updated domain name buffer record is synchronized to each slave DNS server, the request times from the DNS service node to the authoritative DNS node can be reduced, the resource consumption and extranet flow can be reduced, and the system updating efficiency is improved.
