Abstract

Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for device registration and wavelength switching in an Ethernet passive optical network system. The method comprises: sending a windowing message to an ONU; receiving a registration request message that is sent by the ONU according to the windowing message and used for requesting registration, the registration request message carrying wavelength information of the ONU, and the wavelength information comprising a registration downlink wavelength adopted by the ONU for receiving the windowing message; sending the registration message to the ONU according to the registration request message, the registration message comprising a logical link identifier (LLID) allocated by an OLT to the ONU; and receiving a registration acknowledgment message that is sent by the ONU according to the registration message and used for acknowledging completion of the registration. By means of the method and apparatus according to embodiments of the present invention, device registration and wavelength switching can be implemented in an Ethernet passive optical network system that adopts multiple downlink wavelengths and one uplink wavelength for communication, the process can be simplified, and the service volume of the system is increased.
