The invention provides use of curcumin in preparation of a fungicide for preventing and controlling plant diseases caused by plant pathogens. Indoor toxicity determination proves that curcumin has high inhibitory activity on plant pathogenic fungi. As a sterilizing agent, the curcumin has the advantages of high efficiency and low toxicity, and meets the requirement of chemical prevention and control of the plant diseases. The drug tolerance of the pathogens is enhanced due to use of a large quantity of sterilizing agents at present, and the conventional sterilizing agents have the defects of great environmental pollution and high residue content and direct threat food safety of human beings. Curcumin is a degradable, pollution-free and environment-friendly small molecular compound, has poor drug tolerance, and is safe to non-target organisms and human beings and live stocks, so that high quality of agricultural products, fruits and vegetables can be ensured, the requirement of sustainable development is met, and the research and market application prospects are wide.
