The novel electromagnet further comprises a push rod, wherein the push rod and the armature are connected in the shell; and the armature pushes the push rod to move during moving. According to the novel electromagnet and an electromagnet drive device for a fire extinguishing system provided by the invention, by electrifying the coil, the coil instantly generates a magnetic field to drive the armature to move. The armature moves to push the push rod to extend out of the shell. The push rod extending out of the shell can drive a control valve of the fire extinguishing system to be opened, so that fire extinguishing agents such as clean gas can be sprayed out for fire extinguishing. The consumed time for electrifying the coil and pushing the push rod to extend out of the shell is far shorter than the consumed time for manually driving the control valve to be opened, so that the possibility of extinguishing combustion sources in first time and preventing fire from spreading is increased.
