The method for selecting the SIM card comprises the following steps of receiving a target number input by a user; reading a communication log between a local user and the target number; and selecting a target SIM card for communication with the target number from two or more customer identification module SIM cards according to the communication log. According to the embodiments, through analyzing communication logs, such as call logs and short message records, of dual-card dual-standby communication equipment, the SIM card is automatically selected for the user, so that the number of operations of the user is reduced, and the time of the user is saved.
