Embodiment D

[0514] Various embodiment DSA methods may allow the first network and the second network to share configuration information related to resource allocation schemes.

[0515] Various embodiment DSA methods may allow the use of leased radio resources based on the physical location of the subscriber equipment.

[0516] Various embodiment DSA methods may allow the use of leased radio resources with expected quality of service based on physical location.

[0517] Various embodiment DSA methods may include coordinating network resources, of which the DSC in the first network 1 informs the DSC of the second network of those available resources it has in a geographical area or resource allocation scheme.

[0518] Various embodiment DSA methods may include coordinating network resources where the DSC in the second network informs the DSC of the first network of those available resources it has in a geographic area or resource allocation scheme.

Abstract

Methods and system are provided for managing and monitoring allocation of RF spectrum resources based on time, space and frequency. A network may be enabled to allocate excess spectrum resources for use by other network providers on a real-time basis. Allocated resources may be transferred from one provider with excess resources to another in need of additional resources based on contractual terms or on a real-time purchase negotiations and settlements. A network may be enabled to monitor the use of allocated resources on real-time basis and off-load or allow additional users depending on the spectrum resources availability. Public safety networks may be enabled to make spectrum resources available to general public by allocating spectrum resources and monitoring the use of those resources. During an emergency, when traffic increases on a public safety network, the public safety networks may off-load bandwidth traffic to make available necessary resources for public safety users.

Description

[0001] Cross references to related patent applications [0002] This application claims the benefit of priority from US Patent Application Serial No. 13 / 830,839, filed March 14, 2013, which is hereby incorporated by reference in its entirety for all purposes. Background technique [0003] With the continued increasing use of wireless communication devices for accessing networks and downloading large files (eg, video files), there is an increased demand on the radio spectrum. Smartphone users complain of dropped calls, slow access to the Internet, and similar issues, largely due to too many devices trying to access the limited RF bandwidth allocated to such devices. However, due to the discontinuous and intermittent use of such voice radio communication bands, certain portions of the RF spectrum, such as the RF bands dedicated to emergency services (eg, police, fire and rescue, etc.), are left largely unused. Contents of the invention [0004] According to a first embodiment...
