Abstract

For settling a logical disorder problem caused by sequence adjustment in English-to-Chinese machine translation, according to phrase-based sequential translation technology in which machine translation and simultaneous interpretation are combined, the invention provides an intermediate Chinese language model and a translation method thereof. The translation method comprises the steps of (1) dividing an English sentence to phrases according to an English grammar; (2) translating the English phrases to Chinese words by means of machine translation, wherein common prepositions, conjunctions, relative pronouns, etc. are not translated; (3) connecting the translated Chinese words, the English prepositions, the English conjunctions, the English relative pronouns, etc. according to an original sequence of the English sentence; and (4) dividing the Chinese words by means of separators such as space. Therefore the translated text of the intermediate Chinese language is obtained. The translated text of the intermediate Chinese language has high readability. The expression mode of English is kept and clear logic is realized. Furthermore the intermediate Chinese language model and the translation method thereof can realize low-cost accurate machine translation.
