The invention further comprises a separation and purification method of the antitumor activity metabolite of myxobacteria. The metabolite of Myxococcus sp.STXZ72 is prepared by utilizing the separation and purification method. Antitumor activity determination proves that the myxobacteria strain is capable of effectively inhibiting the activity of a variety of tumor cells and also has very low toxicity to normal human umbilical vein endothelial cells.
