Abstract

The invention discloses an air conditioner and a control method of the air conditioner. The air conditioner comprises a controller, a compressor, an outdoor unit shell, an air outlet grille and a driving device. The controller controls the air conditioner to run, and the controller comprises a control switch; the compressor is connected with the controller; an air outlet is formed in the outdoor unit shell; the air outlet grille is arranged on the air outlet; the driving device is arranged to be used for driving the air outlet grille so as to open and close the air outlet and is connected with the controller; and after the control switch is triggered, the driving device drives the air outlet grille so as to open the air outlet before the compressor runs, and after the control switch is turned off, the driving device drives the air outlet grille so as to close the air outlet after the compressor is shut down. According to the air conditioner, before the compressor runs, the air outlet is opened, and after the compressor is shut down, the air outlet is closed; an external foreign body is prevented from entering the interior of the air conditioner, and the air conditioner is prevented from being damaged; and meanwhile, when the air conditioner runs, normal air outlet is achieved, and the running state is not affected.
