specific Embodiment approach 1

[0011] Specific embodiment one: a kind of method described in this embodiment combines unicast and multicast to accelerate the digital TV set-top box to change the method of speed, and this method is:

[0012] A unicast link is created in the multicast link of the existing digital TV set-top box, the unicast link is used when changing channels, and the unicast link is switched to a multicast link after the channel changing is completed.

specific Embodiment approach 2

[0013] Specific embodiment two: this embodiment is to further explain a kind of combination unicast and multicast described in specific embodiment one to speed up the method for the digital TV set-top box to change the channel speed, in this embodiment, the concrete steps of this method are as follows :

[0014] First, a short-time acceleration server unit is added to the network transmission path of the existing digital TV set-top box. The short-time acceleration server unit joins the multicast group of all channels to obtain program data streams of all channels, and provides fast Links to short-time programs;

[0015] When the digital TV set-top box changes channels, a unicast link is established between the digital TV set-top box and the short-time acceleration server unit, so that the digital TV set-top box can obtain the program data streams of all channels in the short-time acceleration server unit, and send the required programs displayed on the user's TV;

[0018] Specific embodiment three: This embodiment is a further description of a method for combining unicast and multicast to speed up the digital TV set-top box switching speed described in specific embodiment one. In this embodiment, a short-time acceleration server unit is used Establish a unicast link.

Abstract

The invention discloses a method for quickening channel change speed of a digital TV (television) set-top box by combining unicast with multicast, relates to the field of digital TVs, and aims at solving the problem that the channel change speed of the existing digital TV set-top box is slow. The method for quickening the channel change speed of the digital TV (television) set-top box by combining the unicast with the multicast is characterized in that a unicast link is created in a multicast link of the existing digital TV set-top box; the unicast link is adopted during channel change, and the unicast link is switched into the multicast link after the channel change is finished. The rapid channel change function of a client-side digital set-top box is realized, and the channel change switching time is shortened to be less than 0.3 seconds from being greater than 1 second, therefore the user experience is promoted to a large extent; meanwhile, before switchover between the unicast and the multicast every time, unicast link transmission can be occupied for only ten seconds, so handling overhead and network throughput consumption on a central server are quite limited; calculated according to the probability that a channel is switched every 15 minutes on average, the handling overhead and network throughput consumption is only equivalent to 1.1 percent of server resources consumed by totally adopting the unicast link.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention belongs to the field of digital television. Background technique [0002] With the popularization of digital TV, digital TV set-top boxes are generally used to play TV programs in families now. The digital TV set-top box adopts an IP-based network transmission method, usually using two network transmission protocols, unicast or multicast. Since unicast adopts a point-to-point method, the server must establish a fixed link for each client, and the content transmitted by each link is different, and the server processing capacity and network throughput are difficult to withstand a large number of clients. Therefore, unicast transmission is rarely used in the field of digital television. For multicast transmission, the server establishes a multicast group for each channel, and then plays them simultaneously. The network transmission equipment will add it to the multicast group of the required channel according to the request of the client,...
